First Impressions

First of all, most of you know the story of the time Marty and I met, and what kind of first impression I made on him. Turns out, it wasn't bad enough to send him running, which is a shocking to all!

I've been asked by quite a few people, what Mr. Marty has thought about the family so far. He's met each member of the family at different times, but has never seen all 6 of us interact together at once, until this past weekend at the Halloween Bash.

Scott and Abby were the first family members he met, which was at Love & War for Happy Hour back in March sometime. He definitely got to meet the original, goofy Scott & Abs, as Scott almost immediately busted out his gum-foil platinum grill he likes to put in. We were all a little worried that this meeting might have scared poor cowboy off. The second time he met them, Scott was again sporting his foil grill and they were dressed as Bacon & Eggs sizzling on the floor.

Next, he got to meet Mark. One time, Marty came to pick me up at my house for dinner and the boys were at the house too. Marty quickly was introduced to Mark, shook his hand and we left. There was little to be learned about Mark until the next visit. A few weeks following, Marty and I had gone to dinner and went back to my house to watch a movie. My phone started ringing and it was Mark. I didn't want to interrupt the movie, so I just silenced it. Well the phone continued to ring 10 times in a row before I finally decided to answer. Mark quickly asked if I was home, to which I responded yes and he abruptly hung up. Less than 2 minutes later, Mark busts through my door screaming, I'll be right back and runs immediately to my restroom. He comes out a few seconds later, says "phew - I couldn't make it home" and plops down on the chair and decides to hang with us. Yeah, that wasn't embarrassing for me! At the Halloween Bash, Mark walked up to explain his costume to Marty and goes "I'm Supersperm, and this is my brothers egg," as he turns to Abby and starts humping her. He then starts sliding and diving on the floor under girls skirts, saying "Who's next? You can run, but you can't hide from Supersperm!"

The first time he met mom, he was checking up on some tiling work she had done on the house. It was a normal encounter so I wasn't scared there. The only thing I'll continuously be nervous about is that Marty grew up roping and hunting, and of course, Leslie is sincere animal lover. Oh well, no worries yet - they'll just have to agree to disagree when the time comes. The 2nd time he met her was at the Halloween Bash, and she immediately sought him out to apologize for anything he might witness from her family that night.

As soon as I spot my dad at the party, I walk Marty over to him and introduce them. My dad shakes Marty's hand and goes "Hi, Mike Stanga. Or really I'm Dr. Hiney. Can I take your butt pressure?" as he is pulling a car tire gauge from his pocket. Dad then proceeds to interrupt his conversation with Marty to put a miniature mirror under a girl's skirt to check to make sure her butt is okay. In true form, he plays the role and rambles off jokes, and then lets them know that he's real good at performing colonoscopies. Yup, dont think he didn't open up his binder and show him pics of his very own colonoscopy he had done, which was just a prop in his proctology doctor costume. Luckily, I think Marty thinks Daddy just printed that off the internet. Then, as Marty is doing a kegstand, Daddy puts the stethoscope to Marty's butt and says he sounds a little stopped up, and proceeds to take an "Almond Joy" out of Marty's butt and screams "I found the problem!"

Finally, he meets Mae Mae who immediately blows her whistle and throws a yellow flag in his face for unnecessary roughness and illegal touching in the backfield. Mae also caresses the dick in the box and continues on to removing her costume one article of clothing at a time in the hot tub.

Soooooo.....does anyone want to place bets on how long this relationship will last?

Video Monitoring

This is a warning to all those who have or will soon invest in the video monitors for watching their children from afar. They may seem like a safe, precautionary device in order to ensure a good night's rest for your little one, while still allowing you to have your adult fun, but let me remind you these devices can be very dangerous.

Mae Mae was at Chris & Danette's getting ready for the Halloween Bash, and was instructed to change into her costume in Blayne's room. A light yellow room full of a 3 year old's toys and dolls seems pretty innocent to any onlooker, until you have the two gents next door. Keith and Brett were adding the finishing touches to the party next door when Brett asked Keith if he could turn on the Ohio State game. Since the last time Chris & Danette were over late-night at Keith's, the TV has remained tuned to Blayne's monitoring camera. Like a deer in headlights, Keith & Brett were caught off-guard by a massive view of cleavage right in the camera. They thought about turning the channel, but couldn't stop watching, even though the dark black and white picture was not too quality. At the time, Mae Mae was leaning forward putting on her outfit, so they couldn't make out too much other than cleavage, but they were very disappointed when she stood straight up and she had on her bra. Soon, a female party goer arrived at the house and the boys immediately turned the channel. It wasn't until two days after the party that they informed anyone of their little sneak preview and we all just about died, including Mae Mae.

Girls and any modest boys, please beware of where you might be changing. You never would expect some of the most innocent places you could be caught by a Peeping Tom, or a child's monitor for that matter. We have decided that this is definitely something only to be achieved by a Stanga, and further justifies why were are known as the Stanga Train.

The Halloween Bash Has Been Resurrected!

It is safe to say that this bash was probably the best one I've been to yet. There weren't nearly as many people there as past years, which was actually very welcomed. You were able to move around freely and it was a great time for all.

Thursday night after work, I headed over to Keith's to start setting up and was there all day Friday and part of Saturday so I was definitely ready to get the party started by the time I got back over there in costume. Of course, the entire family was there for this fine event, and let's just say that the Stanga Train was in full effect.

Mom and Dad were the Proctology Department Specialists: Dr. Hiney & Dr. Butz. They came straight from procedure with no time for changing their gloves. They offer services such as Colon Blow, Ass Pigeon Therapy, Addanastomy and checking your butt pressure.

Mae Mae was in charge of ruling all naughty foul play at the party and threw many yellow flags for illegal touching in the backfield.

Scott & Abby wanted everyone to know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Warning, it's not sanitary to consume raw eggs and meat, therefore you must sizzle your food before you eat.

Since Mark is the soon-to-be proud pappa, it was only right for him to support his cause as Supersperm. He would locate potential wombs and start attacking, and he even attacked his brother's egg!

Momma Maegan has already been infected with this scary substance, so she had to stay home. We missed you girl!

Of course, Halloween is the most fun for skanks. Danette, Jen and I transformed ourselves in pop culture soda-pop queens, The Fantanas.

Killer Miller had begged me to let him stay at the ranch and continue hunting through the weekend, but of course I won that battle! :)

It's okay, it didn't take too long for him to start having fun. He gave a new meaning to 'Cowboy Up.'

Before you knew it, there was even a very special guest appearance and performance.

Girl you know we've been together, such a long long time *SUCH A LONG TIME* ... Take a look inside, it's my Dick in a Box *DICK IN A BOX*

After many rounds of drinks and prior to the kegstand portion of the party, it was time for the hosts to deliver the awards. The Stanga Train should be very proud and honored to take home two of the special prizes. First of all, the funniest award was given to Dr. Hiney for not necessarily the funniest costume, but the personality that totally added to the role. Secondly, Supersperm earned the Scariest Award, and not in terms of a frightening costume, but let's be real - most people are scared shitless of Supersperm. I mean, you can run but you can't hide from that slippery sucker!

Leave it to me to start off the kegstands and get the crowd rowdy. Once I descended from my upside-down position, I was definitely feeling the effects of the beer, margaritas and jello shots. Oh wait, let's not forget the trash can punch that I accidentally spilled on Marty's ranching vest. Sorry babe! =( It didn't take too much longer after that before I was in the pool in full costume and everything just went downhill from there.

It was pretty cold getting into the car in a wet costume, so while Marty was driving, I decided to go ahead and take off my skirt. Little did I know until I got back in my car to get water the following morning, that I had walked through the parking lot and up 3 flights of stairs with no skirt on. Man, my parents should be real proud. I asked Marty if he knew I did that, and he just smiled and said yes. It is absolutely needless to say that yesterday could have very well been the worst day of my life. We barely moved and that was only to go to the bathroom, get a snack, or move from the couch to the bed. We did absolutely nothing except be miserable and give an occasional laugh when recalling the previous night's activities. We definitely brought the shit show, but it was so fun! Can't wait until next year! For more pictures, visit www.thehalloweenbash.com.

The Mile Nine Club

So last night, Team Chelada regrouped for another long distance run. We were in full force (minus Janee who is currently suffering from a soccer injury,) but Kirk filled in for her. Kirk is just starting this running adventure, so he hung for 4 miles while we continued on to rock a solid 9 miles. The most I had run to date was 7 miles last week, so this was a new record for me. I had studied the course map prior to running and am well aware of the elevation points of the track, but I didn't realize how intense they were until I was on foot. Luckily, I had some disgusting Power Bar Energy Gel to keep me going up all those hills. This was a pretty brutal run, and it definitely took me awhile to get in my groove. My knees are sore today, but that's about it. My muscles don't hurt, I can just tell my body is fatigued. I'm looking forward to my night off so Chris and I can hit the cement again in the morning.

Bobby Butronic Was Right!

Bobby Butronic likes boobies and so does Team Chelada! Yesterday, along with 20K+ other people, we ran in the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. We all met up at 6:30 at different points along Central Expressway, and all piled into Kacy's festively-decorated car.

It was still pretty dark when we all started gearing up with all our sweet running gear, and as usual, had to take a pre-race photo op.

We walked over to the staring line, which was nearly invisible due to the crowds of people, but made our way towards the front of the crowd when the announcer instructed the elite runners to move to the front. Okay, okay - so we're not quite elite yet, but we're better than all the strollers, kids and dogs so that justified us advancing in the line. Plus, if somebody took an inventory on all the official running gear we have, they'd definitely think we were lifetime marathoners. Once we completed the race and did all the free-shopping, we headed back to the car. In true Chelada style, we might have been the only group tailgating in the Bed, Bath & Beyond parking lot at 8:30 am.

Once we all had a cocktail or two, we quickly ran over to the White Rock office to pick up our marathon training shirts.

Insert Foot in Mouth

Some of you have had the ever-entertaining, first-hand experience of me sticking my foot in my mouth. For those who haven't, need not worry, as it happens pretty frequently. Yesterday afternoon, my comments were once again at their finest.

Everyday after work, Colby (the boss) and I walk out together. I went down to his office to meet him prior to leaving, and he had a big box full of goods. I asked what he ordered, and he told me some new tennis gear. He's an avid tennis player and his team plays multiple nights a week. He was real excited about his new racket, bag, 24 cans of balls, strings and grips. I asked what he needed 24 cans (72 balls for) and he said that he is always the one to bring the balls and they throw each can away after every few matches.

We get down to our cars, and it's time for our usual farewell bids. We usually just tell each other to have a good match, have a good run, see you in the morning, etc. Yesterday, without even thinking about what I was saying, I just told him "Hey, have fun playing with your balls tonight." He just looked at me and laughed, and then I started cracking up and my face was all flushed. We both just got in our cars, shaking our heads, an drove off in hysterics. Oh geez, why do I always say the wrong thing?

Da Dirty 30

Happy 30th Birthday, Abby. I can't wait to hang out with Quan Lee again.

Daddy Knows Best!

So I guess daddy does know what he's talking about when he tries to offer us to men in exchange for some goats. Mae Mae attended a wedding last weekend where they ran into some sweet goats, and she just had to get a picture. This is now her default MySpace picture, and our fellow cajun, Christi B, asked Mae if she had seen this goat walking down the street in New Orleans. She had to reply with an explanation of why we think goats are so funny/cute.

This is the new addition to the Stanga zoo. We don't have a goat yet. Dad has always wanted a goat. He keeps offering Laney and me to random guys in exchange for a goat. So I thought I'd get him a goat!

If any strange goat-herder is out there reading this, and is willing to part with some award-winning animals, the exchange will definitely be worth it. Mae Mae and I are real cute, spunky and outgoing. We love football and beer. C'mon, it's just a goat!

Da Sista Scoop

So I've pretty much dominated this whole blog alone, but I figured it's time to give a shout out to da sista. This past Saturday, she had to go drown her LSU sorrows away by attending the ever-famous Tipitina's. This is the email I received from her this morning.

***********************************************************
Groupie Turned Goodie-Two-Shoes

Little sister isn't the only Stanga who hangs out with the band. For the past month, I was looking forward to seeing the Drive By Truckers at Tipitina's. Saturday night was the night! A classmate and I threw on our cowboy boots and headed to the show. We had a great time rockin' out to some old favorites as well as songs from their upcoming album (rel. Jan. 08). So the show is over and we are finishing our last beer when some guy comes up to us and asks if we want to go hang out with the band. Uhm...yeah! We follow him up to the private band room at Tip's. We walk into the room where the band is hanging out, and introduced ourselves and told them what a great show they put on, blah, blah, blah. And then we start looking around the room. This is THE private band room. Where pictures of Professor Longhair, the Neville Brothers, and the like grace the walls. Where THEY used to go hang out after the show. We hung out there for a bit and one of the band members asked if we wanted to hang out on the bus. Again...uhm YEAH! We got on the bus and were given the one rule of the bus: no solids in the potty! Ick. So, the partying continued and I decided that it was getting late. I think I shocked the band when I said that I had to go! Who leaves the band's bus? I do! I had a lot of school work to tend to on Sunday and had to be on top of my game. Can we say NERD! But anyway, I have to wonder why they ask single girls to hang out with the band in the first place?!?

***********************************************************
Now for all who are wondering about what she is referring to about me not being the only sister who hangs out with the band, she's talking about when I worked the Taylor Swift/Sugarland/Kenny Chesney concert, had backstage access, worked the stage during the show and then partied in the private Tiki Lounge and then Kenny's official tour bus. Unfortunately for sister, cameras weren't allowed in Tipitina's, but I was able to get some shots of my big adventure.
The girls after working the backstage tour dinner.

Us hanging out on the stage.
Kenny might have accidentally left his panties next to the shower on the tour bus, and I might have just as accidentally found them and took a pic with them.

Q: Did you win? A: Ugh, YEEAAHHH!

The races continue as we continue preparing for our half marathon and now there is already talk of doing the full marathon at the end of February in New Orleans. Don't freak out people, it's just talk. Anyway, today we did the 21st Annual Joe Pool Lake Pumpkin Run. All of team Chelada was in, minus Chris (he opted for the 2 hour spin class instead,) and we all pounded out a terrific 10K = 6.2 miles. I'll definitely say that I wouldn't enjoy running as much if I were alone, and not enjoying EVERY little thing about the day with my team. It's ridiculous how much G.E.A.R. (it's a little somethin you don't even know about...) we have acquired in this short of time.

Prior to the race, we stopped for a quick photo op, along with giving a hands-in TEAM CHELADA cheer.

We are all at different levels of running, and we do everything at our own comfortable pace, but knowing other people are giving it their all along with you is so encouraging. Tammi has been running for over a year and is super fast! She came in 4th place for her age bracket. She rules!

Janee also did awesome and set herself a brand new record. Way to go chica!

I finished with a big smile on my face as I have decreased my mile time pretty significantly.

Kacy even wore her Mummy ring for good-luck and boy did that work. She has shaved 13 minutes off her time since her first 10K. You're awesome.

We all finished successfully and nobody had to stop and walk! Plus, it's always a good day when nobody passes out, throws up, has woman problems, throws out a hip, loses feeling in one or both of their feet or trips and falls completely. We really celebrate the smallest accomplishments in our running group.

Now, although Tammi did AWESOME today, she still got 4th place. You may think 4th place is pretty good, and it is! But, because only places 1, 2 and 3 get trophies Tammi did not get one. This wouldn't be too bad except this is about the FOURTH time she has gotten 4th place and gone home empty handed :( Her husband even kissed her good-bye this morning with the encouraging words of "Hey, don't come in 4th again!"

Well, just by chance, me, Janee and Kacy(who are all three riding together) stop and get gas on the way home. We see a group of Drill Team girls high-kicking and cheering on the side of the street trying to raise money to go to competition. We sit and laugh at them for a while because it's just hilarious. "Captain Courtney" (per the back of her shirt) even fell down mid-high-kick once which sent us into his hysterics. Luckily, she was okay.

So, not only are they "kicking for money" but they are also hosting a little rummage sale. We decide that since they have provided our after-run entertainment that the least we could do is see if they have anything good for sale. We cruise by, at slow speed and see a huge, shiny, colorful, gleaming pile of ... OLD TROPHIES!!!! All three of us are out of the car before we could even say, "Tammi"! We asked the girls if they had a "4th Place" trophy for sale but they didn't. So, we just took the biggest one we could find. And the cost ... only one dollar. Oh yea baby! Making dreams come true one dollar at a time!

There were also some other prize materials to be purchased. I was lucky enough to find an awesome new running get-up, but we had already spent our lone dollar on the trophy.

Once we left the sale, I was in charge of keeping the trophy safe while we drove to get something to eat. Of course, I had the window all the way down to show off our very fine prize.

We decide to stop at Chick-Fil-A for lunch, of course and we opt to take our new-found treasure in with us. Kacy takes it up with her to order and even set it on the counter right where the clerk can read "San Antonio Sea World" on the title. One lady sees me taking a picture of this going down and asks us if we won. I gave her a 'duh' look and responded "Ughh yeeeaahhh" One of the clerks asks Kacy what we won and she said, "A race!". And he looks all impressed, raises his eyebrows and whispers, "Wwwwoooooowwwww."

Needless to say, this is one of the most spectacular days of my life ... and this was all by 11:30 in the morning.

Howl'o'Ween is Coming

Well it's getting to be that time again, where I must rev up my creativity engine for a fabulous costume. After a two-year break, The Halloween Bash is back in action. For anyone who is pissed about not having a party in 2005 and 2006, you can blame it on the plunger incident...

If you have seen these two men or know of their where-a-bouts; please contact your local police department... or Keith Brown!

I'm so excited to attend this crazy event again for the 5th time. You can visit the bash site at http://www.thehalloweenbash.com/ to see pictures from the previous 4 parties.

Welcome to THE HALLOWEEN BASH!!! Enter at your own risk!
