Wino Uno

So Robyn and I are officially 'special.' We were in the process of making a nice Monday night dinner for just the two of us when we started contemplating opening the bottle of wine while cooking or saving it for dinner. We looked at the one bottle, and then at each other and I dared to inquire if she thought that would be enough. Her only response was "get some money out of my purse" and so I did and off to the beverage store I went. Upon my return, she had our glasses already full and waiting, so we started enjoying our new favorite Merlot while cooking up a fancy Italian dish, and occasionally pouring some wine into the pot just for some added flavor. Once we had eaten and finished half the bottle, we moved our date outside to the patio and continued having girl talk. For some strange reason, I had remembered the real spectacular prize I got in my Wendy's kid's meal last week and I went to retrieve it from my purse. Who doesn't love a game of midget-sized Uno? It was really hard to see what cards were blue or green since it was so dark, so we brought out two candles and played by the light. Like the mature, gracious wine connoisseurs we are, this light-hearted card game turned into a drinking game. Good thing for that 2nd bottle! We laughed ourselves silly, but this morning I'm kind of pondering who ever thought gulping wine was a good idea.
