Spoke too soon

In reference to an earlier post "Never Too Old," it appears that my thinking I'm going to be forever young has jinxed me.

After a long weekend of dress shopping, a birthday party, a baby shower, moving the brother and a large family Sunday dinner, I thought I was just about exhausted. I had little energy left to eat my delicious dinner, and couldn't imagine doing anything else afterwards except driving home and crashing.

Blayne and her sweet cousin Carly were also at my parent's house for dinner, and after we ate, they were very busy playing on the golf course. They were trying to do kartwheels, which looked a lot more like tumbling, but good attempts anyway. I was volunteered to show the girls how do to one properly, to which I strongly debated that I was no longer able to do a good kartwheel. I had to give in to their begging and try it and ... HOLY CRAP! I did it, but in the meantime I think I pulled a muscle in my leg AND arm! I knew I shouldn't have done that! Damn that peer pressure!

But on a positive note, I am so pleased with the bridesmaid dress we are wearing for Scott & Abby's wedding. They are having a slightly casual beach wedding in Hilton Head, so we luckily got out of having to search bridal store after bridal store for a satin gown that clearly screams bridesmaid! Instead, we opted for a cute cotton beach dress from J.Crew, and I'll totally wear it again. Love it!
