Yes, the drive-in movie theater is where my mom first laid eyes on daddy, but the term 'drive-in' is quite ambiguous for this couple.
Further into the relationship, my dad liked to play jokes on my mom. She tends to be timid, a goody two shoes and not very adventurous, and of course my dad took full advantage of that.
One evening, they were driving down by the river bank, and my dad decided it'd be pretty funny to give my mom quite the scare by pretending to drive down the boat ramp into the water. My mom was having none of it, throwing a fit, telling him to stop driving. He just wanted to scare her a little, but had all intentions of stopping when it got a little too close for comfort. So what did he do?
He drove the car down the ramp.
Too far into the water, accidentally.
The car sunk.
Mission accomplished.
