Just a short, sentimental, sappy, girly note about how nice it is to have such good girlfriends. I think they are the best accessory any girl can have and make your life so much more meaningful. I truly feel so blessed to be able to have such a strong support group and people I can rely on no matter what. One of my very very very good friends did one of the nicest gestures today and it really made me stop and think about how lucky I am. I was given a real cute box with a nice note and then underneath it was 'Confidence Confetti.' She's super creative and wrote each thing she liked about me on a small strip of paper so that when I'm having a bad day, I just pull one of those little puppies out and get to be reminded of what good things I have going for me. Seriously, as small of as gift as it was, it was HUGE to me. Somehow, I always fall into different groups of 3 girls but I love it and nobody ever feels left out. Each group allows me to enjoy a variety of lifes offerings and I appreciate each girlfriend all the same, but also appreciate their differences. Of course, I have 2 (well actually 3) 'sisters' so to speak, and I love our friendships. I will always have my two best friends and they know who they are, but also I've added newer ones. When I started teaching, I had two girls that were always there through the good and bad times and I miss them both dearly. Even more recently, I've gotten another little threesome going with the best nug-eaters you've ever seen. Too all my besties, thank you for everything. I love my girlfriends!!!
Oh yeah, and to another bestie that isn't quite included in the girls' group. I know you would kill me if I failed to mention you, but I love you so much too and you are my twin soul!

1000 mg of Zoloft PLEASE!!!
Sure I might have a slight case of OCD and be a bit compulsive with the organization of my clothes, but I can be relaxed and let some things slide as well. I really try not to let my laundry pile up too much, but as the work week progresses, there are a few pair of shoes on my floor and some slacks and shirts on the ironing board or piled in the corner. My daddy is too kind to me as he went to my house to help me figure out a solution to a small AC leak that was dripping through the attic door in my closet. Turns out, he had to open the door, and rusty water gushed out and left brownish spots on a good portion of my clothes hanging below. Not too big of a problem, right? Well then he met an AC man to have him give a diagnosis on my issues, and thankfully paid for the dude's visit, so now I owe Mikey $200. That really doesn't fit into my budget right now, but even worse is that I see instructions for two more visits/procedures which will probably be double what the initial visit was.
So yesterday I was having a really good day, had dinner with some friends, and was going to go home to pick up the small items, have a relaxing bath with a glass of wine, give myself a pedicure and finish this book that has been pleasantly occupying ALL my free time! When I got home, the first thing I see was this AC invoice and a list of necessary follow-up procedures which starts to rattle my chain a bit. Then I head upstairs to do the little clean up I had planned on, but then I noticed that all my clothes (rusty-spotted clothes mind you) were piled up all over the floor so that the guy could work in the attic. All my nice organized clothes (by sleeve/pant length and color) were all over my floor, and the nice separate stacks of dry cleaning, tailored items, dirty items had all been conjoined. I about had a heart attack and just needed to close my eyes and pretend it wasn't all there. Instead of having a relaxing night, I just crawled in bed and fell asleep. I can't handle this - I took tomorrow off to go home and organize it all. UGH!
Don't worry, today was even better as I had an 8 am dentist appointment for a regular cleaning. The hygienist asked about this small bump on my gum that she thought was an abscess. I've had it for a few months but it doesn't hurt or anything and my tooth is fine, which is very uncommon for an abscess. They took all sorts of x-rays and then referred me to a specialist because none of the problems that cause these infections are present in my case. So that leads me to a specialist that can do an IV drip while I have a ... root canal! A FKN root canal!!!Are you kidding me? Seriously? Do people NOT know that I'm an overly anxious, obsessive, compulisive worrier? I need a strong cocktail of zoloft!!!
Oh well, at the end of today, I can have some type of relief because it's...
GAME DAY!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!
HOT BOUDIN, COLD COUS COUS, C'MON TIGERS - POOSH POOSH POOSH!!!

New Meaning of Wall Art
Robyn is a bit ashamed that I have included her in so many of my blogs thus far, and thinks people will think she's super retarded, but really she's what keeps me laughing a lot of the time. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to wake up to really cool awards decorated with stickers that she has found digging through all my teacher boxes or a kitchen full of clean pots, but I'm even luckier when she comes home from a LONG dinner (a polite way of saying she's been at the bar) and wakes me up because she wants to see my pretty face. Or really, she wants me to come downstairs and talk to her. So last night, I had finally crawled in bed many hours after I had hoped to be in bed when I was summoned outside to sit and talk to her. I gave in, crawled out of bed only to learn that Jessica called and said she was coming over too! A friend dropped a very very very inebriated Jess off and we sat and talked, while she munched on what she claims was her 4th McD's cheeseburger of the day. Sometimes people who are THAT wasted are really annoying, but not her. She made my heart smile & giggle just watching her. I eventually headed up to bed and once again, left those two for themselves. This morning, when I went into Robyn's bathroom to borrow her straightener (even my CHI can only withstand so much abuse in trying to tame Medusa,) I noticed that they had another burst of creative energy as they designed a lovely mural on the wall. Anyone who has seen pictures or who has been in my house knows there is a lovely variety of wallpaper in the bathrooms that will soon be replaced with texture and paint. Occasionally, there are random late-night tear-downs or better yet, now there are drawings. I seriously about lost my shit when I saw their interpretation of themselves and couldn't help but to get a picture.

What is even better that this morning when I saw Jessica had woken up, she informed me that she had to be at work at 8:30 but didn't have a car, change of clothes or anything. I asked what she was going to do, and she said she was calling a cab, and just going to work in whatever she could find. HAHAHAHA - I couldn't ever survive like that, but because she can and just laugh about it, I love her so much. Thanks for another wonderful and humorous morning girls. See you tonight!

Wino Uno
So Robyn and I are officially 'special.' We were in the process of making a nice Monday night dinner for just the two of us when we started contemplating opening the bottle of wine while cooking or saving it for dinner. We looked at the one bottle, and then at each other and I dared to inquire if she thought that would be enough. Her only response was "get some money out of my purse" and so I did and off to the beverage store I went. Upon my return, she had our glasses already full and waiting, so we started enjoying our new favorite Merlot while cooking up a fancy Italian dish, and occasionally pouring some wine into the pot just for some added flavor. Once we had eaten and finished half the bottle, we moved our date outside to the patio and continued having girl talk. For some strange reason, I had remembered the real spectacular prize I got in my Wendy's kid's meal last week and I went to retrieve it from my purse. Who doesn't love a game of midget-sized Uno? It was really hard to see what cards were blue or green since it was so dark, so we brought out two candles and played by the light. Like the mature, gracious wine connoisseurs we are, this light-hearted card game turned into a drinking game. Good thing for that 2nd bottle! We laughed ourselves silly, but this morning I'm kind of pondering who ever thought gulping wine was a good idea.

Grow Up!
This weekend, I definitely experienced another first. My girlfriend Kacy asked if I wanted to head to her hometown, a small town near Tyler for her grandpa's birthday party. I really didn't have anything better to do, and somehow I knew it would turn into some great adventure, which of course it did. Two of our other girlfriends were really torn between their intense desire to attend this fabulous event with us and their prior engagements, but thanks to some creativity, they were able to partake in the festivities. So after work on Friday, Kacy, Jen, Casey and I headed down 175 into East Texas.
We passed countless amounts of farms, cow pastures, haystacks, and anything else you would expect to see driving through rural parts of Texas. Shortly after passing a field full of cows, we approach a building that is sitting right off the highway, and the only building around for a few miles. The huge billboard said Sarah's Secret, Lover's Headquarters with an arrow pointing down. We started the giggle and figured Sarah was just a distant cousin of Victoria and it was a country lingerie store. It was just so random, and in the middle of nowhere, with such attention drawn upon it, we had to turn around and go explore.
Turns out, they had very little for lingerie but a wide variety of other adult merchandise you could purchase. Being the extremely mature adults that we are, we couldn't resist cracking up at some of the things people might actually buy and took a few pictures as well. The woman working the register could hardly imagine what was so funny, as she takes her job very seriously...that must have been Sarah. Well we had had our fill of shock and pure entertainment, and decided to continue down the road towards Frankston. Soon enough, we arrived at the Frankston VFW Post, which was a place I'd never been to, much less even heard of. I quickly learned what type of place a VFW Post is, especially in a small country town. There were all types of senior citizens dressed in their finest country attire for their weekly night out dancing, and the peeps down at the VF-Dub definitely take pride in the type of people they allow in to such a fine establishment. The woman, we liked to call the Shorts Nazi, set up post at the front door taking the cover charges and also strictly enforcing the posted rules.
Cadillac load by Cadillac load, these crazy partiers entered the building with their portable battery-operated personal fans in tow. There is no way it was hot in that building, but somehow they had all received word that a heat wave was coming through. I guess after all that dancing, one might get a little warm, but not enough to carry a personal fan in your purse. Of course, if you were to get overheated, they did offer ice water for free. In the back corner of the dancehall, there was a small table set up with an ice machine and a water cooler. Again, this place is pretty official and they don't take any monkey-business.
We had tons of fun and even danced a dozen times or two. Some of these old women were crazy and would make their knees touch their elbows while dancing. No kidding, this old couple was low to tha flo, and unfortunately - pappy's knees gave out and he fell over backwards. It could have been a real sad happening, but everyone just laughed and he shot right back up and started dancing again. Also, the elder females particularly seem to enjoy a line dance, which is their own modified version of the Electric Slide. Kacy's dad was standing in line at the bar behind a real gentle grandmother-figure, so he asked if she would like to join the dance. She kindly rolled her eyes and informed him that she only dances with a real man. Acknowledging her wisdom, he admitted that line dancing was quite silly, to which she responded "Honey, I'm like Coca-Cola. I'm the REAL THING!" Sassiness must just be something that some girls never grow out of. Speaking of dancing, there was also this real special routine that Kacy and I decided we needed to sit out of. The band sang God Bless America while all the participants linked hands in two parallel lines, sang along, and performed a really moving piece. Ok, maybe not as much moving as a little freaky, but hey - at least they have great patriotism. All in all, while pretty unconventional, the night was great fun. I don't know how soon it'll be before I try out another VFW or even a geriatric birthday party, but hey at least I can check it off on my to-do list.

Cheers and Tacos
So I've made it to day 5 with the roomate situation and it's sailing along so smoothly. I think I'm really going to like this gig, and not only because she's my best friend but because she's real thoughtful. I should go ahead and apologize to the neighbors because I think we're going to get pretty loud. It only took her 4 days to completely settle into her room and last night she was so excited to for me to see. Robyn came and knocked on my door and said it was time for the Final Reveal and we needed to move the bus. Apparently, the upcoming episode of Extreme Home Makeover is being filmed at #804. Yup, you betcha we acted it all out. She shut the door, I chanted "move that bus, move that bus" and then all hell broke loose. There was jumping, screaming, crying, thanking the lord, amens, OMGs, I don't believe this, how beautiful, is this really mine? So yeah, we're gay but that's what friends are for, and I'm almost positive this is how we would have reacted if we were ACTUALLY on the show. Ok, now as if that wasn't enough greatness, it got better this morning. Robyn once again decided to go out after I had fallen asleep, which always leads to the 4th meal syndrome. I had a note on the fridge again saying "Sorry, no lunch today but take a few tacos for breakfast! Love, Robyn & Courtney" I opened the fridge and was soooo excited to see 3 Taco Cabana breakfast tacos waiting for me. I brought them to work and immediately bragged to Colby about my tasty treats. Good thing I had that leftover packet of hot sauce that Robyn had included in my lunch on Monday. MMMMM - I'm so full. Might have to unbutton my pants now...

I Heart My Friends
This weekend, we got Robyn all moved into my house. I'm extremely excited to have her as a roomate but am equally as scared to be living with her. So far, the first day of living with her went a little something like this: went to bed at 11pm, woke up at 9am, ate breakfast, watched a movie, spent 1 1/2 hours looking through old pictures, went to Wendys, came back and watched movies until 4, and then woke up and started cleaning and re-organizing everything to make room for her stuff. We had to make a trip back to Home Depot so she could get a new toilet seat, and not use the squishy one that the granny had used before we moved in, so we also stopped at the store to get something to make for dinner. Of course, we're always thinking of food.
We first made our delicious appetizer of spinach artichoke dip, and were going to continue cleaning some before we made our flavorful turkey sausage spaghetti. In the meantime, Jessica also came over and we started drinking wine. At midnight, and after 3 bottles of wine and when Robyn then mentioned making nachos, I decided I needed to go to bed and leave those two girls to themselves. After about 20 minutes of a restful slumber, I am suddenly involved in a cruel smothering attack as they jump on me and wake me up. They decided it was a good idea to go to Sterlings (the bar behind my house) and continue their festivities. I couldn't go, but ensured them that it would be in the best interest if they went. I also told them to be sure NOT to let me know when they got home. I heard the giggles trailing off down the stairs and fell fast asleep.
This morning I went downstairs to eat a couple of biscuits for breakfast, and went to grab my grape gatorade from the fridge and it was gone. Those drunk hookers had drank my favorite gatorade, so I had thought. I think to myself, oh well, I'll just get apple juice at work. On the garage door I find a note from them saying not to forget my lunch in the fridge. I go and see this oddly shaped plastic grocery bag full of stuff, with a note that says not to open until I get to work. So I eagerly rush into my office to tear open the bag only to find that I have to first tear through 6 bags before I get to the goodies. This is what I found. I’m speechless and giggling so hard alone in my office. I walked down to show Colby, my boss, and he laughed but also kind of thought I might have just moved in with retards. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH! What a way to start my Monday.

It's kind of hard to tell from the picture what all was included in my lunch so I'll give you a list.
- BLACK MAN magazine featuring CoCo (Ice T's wife.) Pretty much porn. SWEET I'm super glad that they saw this at 7-11 at 2:00 in the morning and decided it was the perfect addition to a healthy lunch!
- Shredded cheese. I had bought cheese cubes earlier in the night for my morning snack, but Robyn apparently thought shredded was the way to go. "For your starter...just a sprinkle!"
- 6 Break and Bake cookie dough squares "Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or eat at your own risk RAW"
- My leftover spaghetti
- Rubber decorative grapes
- An apple
- Grape Fierce Gatorade
- Lemon-Lime Gatorade
- Taco Bell Mild Sauce reading "You're Not Spicy"
- Taco Bell Hot Sauce reading Love, Robyn
- Homer Simpson Cookie reading "DOI!" (Robyn and Jessica spent a long time trying to figure out how to spell that and were extremely disappointed when I informed them that Homer said DOH!)
- Whataburger ketchup - my favorite
- Reeses
- Party Blower
- Mini Bubbles
- Transformer toy from kids meal
- 2 Napkins saying "She likes her cocktails like she likes her men. Neat with a twist."
- Spork
What Exactly Is A Stanga Train?
Alright, alright - I've created a blog. I'm not one of those deep people who posts their emotions and poetry or anything like that, but I do enjoy telling funny stories and this is a way for me to keep everyone up to date on what's going on with me and the fam. Cara first gave me the idea when she started blogging her pregnancy and then Christy joined in on the fun. They encouraged me to create one, but I don't have kids, I'm not pregnant, not married - so really what is so interesting about me to blog? Then I remembered how a family friend, Christi B always said she enjoyed reading my blogs I had put on my MySpace page. Well not everyone has MySpace, and I just got really bad about taking the time to sit down and creatively tell my stories, so that soon fell off the to-do list. Yesterday, a funny happening that my two good girlfriends caused, forced me to sit down and write a MySpace bulletin and I remembered how fun it can be to share a few laughs via blogging. This morning when I found out more friends Chris & Danette had started an account, that was it. I'm done with the thinking about it, I'm doing it. So here it is - Welcome aboard the Stanga Train.
I can go ahead and give all the credit for the blog name to our family friend Keith. Apparently, he seems to think that each member of our family is a bit off the rocker and that we always have retarded stories. One night he was over at the house and the song Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne came on and he started singing along. Soon, Keith was singing his version of the lyrics and substituting Crazy for Stanga - they're synonymous I guess. Since that night, he just refers to anything Stanga as "Oh, there goes that Stanga Train again" and it has stuck. I couldn't think of a blog name any more appropriate. Thanks Keith!
Thanks for stopping by my page and check back regularly for new postings. I'm going to try my hardest to keep this up to date, and y'all can help by providing me with great new material to post.
