Heart and Soul

Kacy's birthday happy hour at Landon's Winery on Wednesday night was quite the success. I just fell in love with that place and can't wait to go back. I mean, $5 for a wine tasting of 3 heavily poured glasses? Doesn't get better than that!

We made some really great new friends, one of which was Black Irish. Ron O'Shea or Denzel Jefferson or whatever else he tried to tell us was quite the entertainment for us. We told him about our St. Patty's Day Parade float but he was unfamiliar with the certain YouTube video that we were referencing. Need not worry - of course the laptop was just a few feet away in the car, so we busted that bad boy out and started watching videos at the bar - including 'Where Da Gold At?' Because we're pure geniuses and we had yet to find a black person for our float, we asked him to be our token black guy. He politely declined, saying he was unavailable that day, so we went to plan B. Emailing 'Big Al' from Kiss FM to see if he would do it. His response is pending, or maybe he just sent us straight to the trash bin.

We also met Zan, the lawyer handling construction cases. He had a unique way of marketing to his clients, and also to us. He hands out personalized Swiss army knives with his business information on it. Gotta love getting a free weapon at the bar! Zan soon asked us to join him and his business partners at the fancy chophouse next door for a nightcap. We followed him back to this really cool, dark bar where we met even more friends. It didn't take long before Kacy and I were entertaining the whole bar with our rendition of 'Heart and Soul.' We don't know who the heck filmed this, or if the camera was just sitting on the table, but at home later that night, Kacy discovered this little video of our actual performance.

When we had finished with our smooth musical skills, another bar-goer decided to shof off his awesomeness on the keys. This cat could play anything you wanted, and since Kacy has a pretty voice, she sang along to his songs. As soon as he busted out Journey's 'Dont Stop Believin' the entire bar erupted in an all out sing-a-long. It is definitely an understatement to say that the bar at Rick's Chophouse in downtown McKinney was totally NOT EVEN HAPPENING until we arrived. I think we made some new life-long friends...even if they are 45 years old. HAH!
