Ohhhhh....I get it now!

So, I may be a little bit on the slow side (don't you dare agree with me...) but at least I was finally able to connect the dots. Even if it took over a week.

Last Monday, I went to my regular stylist to get just a maintenance trim, since I'm trying to keep my hair longer. She asked me, "Now, is there anything I need to remember before I begin?" I shook my head no, because she is well aware of the potential my hair has if not blow-dried in a timely manner. She also knows I have a shit ton of hair and she's going to really have to comb through it. She knows all this, so I just tell her that everything is good, just here for a cut.

"Now, you don't have to style it like this every time, but I would like to show you an option if you're feeling fancy one day."So after that, I come out of the salon and return to working like a complete asshat. Scoot over, Farrah Fawcett - I'm bringing this feathered look back again. Whatever, not a big deal - it was just the way she styled my hair.

Of course, it took me until Thursday to even wash my hair again (since it was Monday when she did a real professional rinse on the weave) and I tried to do something different with it and let's face it.... IT.DID.NOT.WORK. Not a problem, just didn't style it the normal way... I'm sure it will be fine when I go back to my normal routine.

Over the weekend, my hair was pulled back in a pony tail or in a headband and yesterday it was curly. However today....

Today is the day that I realized that the whole "is there anything I should remember? bit" Ummmm...yeah - I'm growing my hair out, I don't want short layers. Maybe she forgot that I was trying to keep the layers long, because with this volume, short layers are recipe for disaster.

What am I left with? Short freaking layers!

I think this is the first time, I've been truly unhappy with her cut. Unhappy, but at least I finally understand what she was trying to ask.
