Hit Me With Your Best Shot!

Pat Benatar says it best. Let's just say we were blowin' some shit up this weekend down at Cheatham Ranch...both figuratively and literally!

Praise the lord that the burn ban has been lifted from Bosque and Coryell Counties and we were able to have a bonfire. Good thing too, because it was soooo cold outside, like a freezing 70 degrees. Does that flame appear to be a little too tall and out of control?
What is a trip to the country without busting out the big guns? Well, the boys played rifles and g-forty while I played nine mm. It's been almost a year since I've picked up that piece, so I was a little rusty at first. It also could have been that I started from quite the distance, but once I moved up to a more reasonable spot, I was hitting much better. Regardless of how far off I might have been initially, that mooncricket would totally have been hurting a little. Oh, an if you have any questions regarding WTF a mooncricket is, please address your questions to Mr. Miller in Temple, Texas. I keep my target practice, or what I like to call Silhouette Shootout, to a simple stand-and-shoot technique, but Rambo himself prefers to add a few obstacles to his course. Wait one second...it gets even better. It was totally necessary for him to see how long it would take him to shoot one full clip (with an obstruction to his path,) replace it with a second clip, and continue. It took a few rusty attempts, to say the least, but he finally smoothed it out. How else do you time something when you don't have a stop watch? Duh, of course you film it!

Oh, the simple life. That loud, ringing-in-your-ears kind of simplicity, but the simple life nonetheless.
