I GOT A NEW JOB...
...and it's downtown. Really, that's a bold-faced lie, but apparently I was lead to believe it this morning. I was in my normal trance while driving to work this morning, and when I was sitting in traffic in an unfamiliar place, I began to wonder where the crap I was. I look around me and see cement walls lining the tollway, so I look up at the bridge over my head and see a sign that says Mockingbird. Hmmm - well I'm actually supposed to exit before Mockingbird, turn left at the light and cross the bridge. Instead, I was sitting under it. Interesting, how on earth could I unknowingly miss my exit when I've been driving the same route for nearly 2 years. Whatever, I'm a complete idiot! I did learn a few things though on my new adventure. There is not a southbound exit for the next major street, Lemmon Ave, therefore I had to drive even further south to Wycliff. The construction and traffic there is a real doozie, let me tell you. Another great thing I learned this morning, while trying to get to work, is that if you sit at a light at Cedar Springs and Wycliff long enough, you'll realize that the drag queens actually walk to their day jobs in outfits not too different than the outfits they were at night. Very interesting.
